Looking for a face cream review? I have a small collection of face cream reviews for you here. They include the actual experiences reported by consumers, along with my own evaluation of the product ingredients. Enjoy!
Estee Lauder Daywear Face Cream Review
Customers speak highly of this product, saying that it is the "best moisturizer" and the "best sunscreen", non-irritating to sensitive skin and they like the fragrance. This is one of the problems that I see with basing your purchases on consumer face cream reviews, alone.
This is not like a television set or a video game. Sure, customer opinions might be a point of consideration, but they certainly aren't the only thing to consider. Among them is whether or not the ingredients are safe and effective.
Is "Daywear" really the best moisturizer? No, there are far better moisturizers on the market, including grape seed oil, functional keratin and passion fruit. The primary moisturizing ingredient is petrolatum, which is known to clog the pores and interfere with normal cell rejuvenation.
Is Daywear the best sunscreen? Researchers feel that the best sunscreen to use during prolonged exposure is zinc oxide, a thicker lotion that blocks both UVA and UVB rays.
Is it non-irritating to sensitive skin? Well, I suppose that's possible, but it contains eight different ingredients that are known to cause irritation and 14 known allergens. I've looked at a lot of product ingredients and that's the most allergens and irritants that I've ever seen in one place. I wouldn't buy it.
Elizabeth Arden's Prevage Face Cream Review
Some face cream reviews make me feel sad for the consumer. One woman decided to try this product because of its antioxidant activity and the number of "rave reviews" that she had read. After a week of use she developed a "red blotchy lumpy rash" all over her hands, face and neck. She paid 0.00 for the product, which just goes to show you that price is not always indicative of quality.
Oil of Olay Total Effects Face Cream Review
This is actually a complete line of products ranging from cleansers to moisturizers. So, you have to keep that in mind when reading a "total effects" face cream review. Some of the products are fragrance free, which is a good start, since fragrances are a common cause of allergic reactions. But, the entire line contains parabens as preservatives.
I've read many positive face cream reviews for products containing parabens and it really concerns me. It concerns scientific researchers as well. The compounds act like the hormone estrogen within the human body, which may increase a woman's risk of breast cancer and could cause damage to the male reproductive system.
There proponents on each side of the debate, but since they are unnecessary, why take the risk?
Natural vitamin E and grape seed oil are effective preservatives, as well as effective antioxidants. The best creams that I have found are effective, but still free of artificial preservatives and added fragrances. Don't buy another product based solely on a positive face cream review. Your skin's health and that of the rest of your body is too important.
